Mercy Medical Center is recognized by the American Heart Association as a Training Center for its programs in Basic Life Support (CPR Courses), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). These courses are taught by certified American Heart Association instructors affiliated with the Mercy Medical Center Training Center.

The Basic Life Support courses, which include Adult and Pediatric CPR, and Public Access Defibrillation, are offered to the staff of Mercy Medical Center, to staff from other health care facilities, and to the community at large. Bilingual instructors also offer the CPR program in Spanish from the Training Center. The ACLS and PALS courses are offered to health care providers such as nurses, physicians, physician assistants and EMS personnel. In 2010, the Training Center at Mercy Medical Center trained a total of 2,931 people in the various programs, making it the fifth most active Training Center in the American Heart Association’s Long Island Region.

ACLS ‚ PALS ‚ BLS(CPR)

Renew your BLS card at your next ACLS course.

You can now renew your BLS certification when you take your ACLS course. When you register online for ACLS you will be given the option to register for the BLS renewal course at the same time.

If you have registered and have NOT received your materials the week prior to your course, you need to contact the HTC Training Center.

You will not be allowed into the class without materials. These materials allow you to take the Mandatory Pre Test for ACLS and/or PALS.

You must achieve a score of 80% on the mandatory pre-test.

A copy of this pre-test must be handed in at the beginning of class.
